Everybody is talking about commercial closed source wikis (and they have got some marketing muscles, right) - but in this session I would like to discuss what Open Source wikis have got to offer.

Let's discuss the pros and cons of choosing an open source wiki for enterprise uses!

Yes!

One is in the "Koalitionsvertrag"

There are many points i do not agree in this treaty, but this case is - in my eyes - absolutely correct. I guess that the point of view was not a decision of strategy, more than "running ot of money" - but nevertheless it is the right point of view. The Differences and problems between Konzern 1.0 and Government 1.0 are marginal in my eyes - 9 years Daimler - i felt no critical difference. The German Society is here too closed and uniform to differ.

Many Greetings, Yours

Hi Martin,

let's discuss then what can be done to improve that situation - I guess we can import some ideas from the open source events that are running the whole week.

On the other hand I hesitate to enter too much of a controversy - for me it's important to employ wikis to improve workplace collaboration, regardless if they're OpenSource at heart or not.

Interesting take anyway, with abundant links to potentually valid "stuff to explore"

Take care,

We've just implemented an open source wiki at work, and the major difficulty was the installation : we're not techies, and we have no skills in-house to install a web server for instance ...

So what open source solutions need is automatized installation and upgrades ...
